About the Doctor

Mena Scanlon

Dr. Mena Scanlon was raised in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She embarked on her academic journey at the University of South Dakota (USD) in Vermillion, where she pursued her undergraduate in Addiction Studies and Psychology. Her passion for understanding human behavior and promoting well-being led her to further her education with a Master's in Addiction Studies at USD.

It was during her time as a chiropractic assistant while completing her master's program that Dr. Scanlon had her first encounter with the world of chiropractic care. Witnessing the transformative power of chiropractic on patient's lives sparked a realization in her: she had found her true calling. In her own words, she humorously reflected, "Uh oh, I went to school for the wrong thing."

After dedicating five years to her role as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor, Dr. Scanlon made a pivotal decision to pursue her newfound passion. She enrolled at Northwestern Health Sciences University (NWHSU) and graduated in 2023.

Dr. Scanlon's commitment to continuous learning led her to complete an Acupuncture Certification and undergo training in Applied Kinesiology and Nutrition. She is currently is on the path to achieving certification in Neuro Emotional Technique, further enhancing her holistic approach to patient care.

Dr. Scanlon firmly believes in the importance of individualized patient care. She views chiropractic as a vital tool for providing structural support by correcting subluxations and laying the groundwork for numerous healing opportunities.

When she is not in the office, you can find her spending time with her husband, Sean, and dog, Walter. She enjoys spending time in the kitchen and creating a healthier twist on a variety of foods. In every dish she crafts, Dr. Scanlon brings the same passion and precision to her cooking as she does to her chiropractic care, continually nurturing both body and soul.
